Becoming a believer and follower of Jesus Christ

Father God loves you so much that He sent His only Son the Lord Jesus Christ to die for you. He wants to enter into a loving relationship with you as His special child. John 3 v 16.

Here are some steps that you can take to become a Christian:-

1. Accept that you have sinned against God and are separated from Him by your sin. Romans 3 v 23

Read Exodus 20 to see how you have broken the 10 commandments. Ask God to show you specific sins and how He feels about that.

2. Realise that all who have sinned are deserving of God's judgement and that sin produces spiritual death. Romans 2 vs 5 - 6 and Romans 6 v 23

3. Repent and believe the good news of the kingdom. Turn completely away from sin and rebellion against God.

Believe that Jesus the Son of God died on a cross for you. He took all your sin on Himself on the cross. Ask Him to forgive you, to live inside you by His Spirit and receive His forgiveness now.  2 Corinthians 5 v 21

4. Pray and ask Jesus into to your life. Ask His forgiveness for your sin. Name each one of your known sins to the Lord Jesus Christ as He directs. Receive His forgiveness for each one.     1 John 1 v 9

Jesus loved you so much that on the cross that He took the punishment for your sins. You no longer stand condemned for your sin. Romans 8 v 1

5. Make Jesus Lord of your life. Decide that you will follow Jesus whatever comes your way. Tell Him that you will live for Him. Mark 8 v 34

6. Tell someone that you have you have become a believer in Jesus and meet with other Christians regularly.

You have a new beginning in Christ! You will have an exciting time with your Father God as you embrace His plans for your life. He loves you with a love that goes on forever!

If anyone is in Christ He is a new creation. The old has gone the new has come.
