Dave and Raych Clay - an update Winter 2008
We are very grateful for the prayers and support you have given to us in the time we were in Uganda.
After 7.5 years at New Hope, we felt God was leading us on to be part of another ministry in Uganda - Mto Moyoni. Mto Moyoni work with many pastors, leaders and staff (including all New Hope staff and several other children's centres) to see God bring a revelation of His father heart and bring healing to all the mess, pain, anger and generational sin. It is very similar to the ILSOM run by the Toronto Church. We have seen God transform young people and pastors through this process and really set them free. This has been wonderful to be part of.
We spent 6 months at Mto Moyoni before coming back to the UK. Father God really worked inside us, healing and setting us free. This process continues now and has really started in out children.
Our original plan was to be back in the UK for just 6 months returning to Uganda early next year. There are a number of things which have changed this.
Father God is really working in us and our children. We want to allow enough time for God to really do what he wants to do. There is much more opportunity here for this kind of ministry and we are making it a priority to get to as much as possible including the Partners in Harvest conference recently and the ILSOM this week. This is real training for us, our family and for going back.
God has very graciously provided a good job for Dave. This job is enabling us to provide for our needs here and to save for going back.
Our current plan is to return to Uganda in June of next year. This is not definate - God is really asking us to focus on him and the here and now and not switch our focus to going back. It feels very much like Chapter 1 of our time in Uganda is over and we are seeking him to find out exactly what Chapter 2 looks like and when it is due to happen. We have had several prophecies since leaving Uganda about Africa and especially about children and seeing an army raised up for God.
There are some practical hurdles to jump over before going back:
- Suitable schooling for our children.
- Financial support to enable us to live there.
- Being part of a church in Uganda which our children actually enjoy going to.
With much love Dave Clay
